ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs the permitted use of GPT-Shield software, including the desktop application, browser extensions, and related services (the “Software”).
This AUP forms part of, and is incorporated by reference into, GPT-Shield’s Terms of Service (including End User License Agreement). Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings set forth in the Terms.
1. Permitted Use
You may use the Software solely for:
- Your internal business purposes
- Personal productivity and data-protection use
- Lawful activities consistent with applicable laws and regulations
The Software is intended to assist users in identifying and reducing the risk of unintended disclosure of sensitive information.
2. Prohibited Uses
You may not use the Software to:
a. Violate Law or Rights
- Engage in, promote, or facilitate illegal activity
- Violate applicable data protection, privacy, or security laws
- Infringe or misappropriate intellectual property or privacy rights
b. Circumvent Security or Licensing
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
- Bypass, disable, or interfere with licensing, activation, or protection mechanisms
- Attempt to defeat or manipulate redaction safeguards
c. Misuse the Software’s Capabilities
- Use the Software to intentionally obscure evidence or records for unlawful purposes
- Rely on the Software as a substitute for required legal, regulatory, or professional review
- Misrepresent the Software’s capabilities, accuracy, or guarantees
d. Harm GPT-Shield or Others
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Software
- Use the Software in a manner that creates unreasonable security or operational risk
- Attempt unauthorized access to systems or data
3. Responsibility for Content
All content processed by the Software is provided by the user.
You remain solely responsible for:
- Reviewing content before submission or disclosure
- Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, policies, and obligations
- Verifying that sensitive information has been appropriately handled
The Software is a support tool, not a compliance guarantee.
4. Enforcement
GPT-Shield reserves the right to:
- Investigate suspected violations of this AUP
- Suspend or terminate access to the Software
- Revoke licenses in accordance with the Terms of Service
Enforcement actions may be taken without prior notice where required to protect security, legal compliance, or system integrity.
